AEI 331 Discourse Analysis in American Sign Language - English Interpreting
This course provides an in-depth exploration of discourse analysis as it applies to American Sign Language (ASL) and English interpretation. Students will learn how linguistic features, register variations, discourse structures, and sociocultural influences shape communication in both signed and spoken languages. Through video analysis, hands-on exercises, and real-world interpreting practice, students will refine their ability to recognize and accurately interpret discourse features across various settings.
