Textbooks
Students living on-campus will have textbooks and other materials to be delivered directly to their Residence Halls or the campus store if they live off-campus prior to the start of classes. All items will automatically be billed to their student account each semester. There are additional shipping charges for those opting to have textbooks and materials shipped to their home addresses. Students will have the opportunity to opt-out of the program if they choose, though this is not recommended. Slingshot does not automatically source books for opted-out students. Once opted out, the student will be responsible for purchasing books elsewhere or via the Slingshot Student Portal. Automatic emails will be sent to students with instructions on how to access digital materials a few days prior to the start of classes.
Return of Textbooks
Students will be required to return rented textbooks within 7 days of the end of classes. Materials may be returned to the Maryville Campus Store or by postal mail. Students who do not return books within the timeline will have additional charges applied to their student account. Students withdrawing in the middle of the semester will be required to return rented material within 7 days of withdrawal. Reminder emails will be sent to students.
Refunds
Refund requests for books will be issued fully within the first 10 days of classes. Any refund request received after the add/drop deadline will be 80% of the originally billed amount for the returned item(s). Digital textbooks cannot be returned at all once thirty days have elapsed following fulfillment. Returns of non-technology general merchandise items are accepted with a receipt up to thirty days after purchase.
