EXS 299 Professional Issues in Health Sciences
This course introduces new Exercise Science and Health/Wellness majors to contemporary issues shaping today’s health and wellness landscape. Students will examine emerging trends, explore key professional roles across clinical and non-clinical settings, and begin clarifying their own professional goals. Through structured career exploration activities, guest speakers working in diverse health fields, and other guided career-centered conversations, students will build a stronger understanding of the pathways available to them. The course also emphasizes foundational professional behaviors such as communication, teamwork, and intergenerational workplaces, supported through activities designed to prepare students for success in academic, clinical, and community health environments (1 hour)
