Minor in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) requires the completion of 18 hours of coursework.

For students pursuing a major with licensure, EDU 403: Clinical Practice for PK12/Secondary will occur within the context of ESL instruction in a public school, and the TESL portion will be part of a total of 10 credit hours of clinical experience (3 of 10 hours). Students not pursuing teacher licensure may instead do ENG 337: Internship as student teaching or as a teacher’s assistantship within a private school or a private ESL program.
