MCW 299 Issues in Professional Development

This course supports career development and preparation for success in the complex world of work with an emphasis on the liberal arts. Lectures and in-class discussions focus on designing a career development plan, creating a professional online presence, delivering an effective personal introduction, and identifying opportunities related to professional goals. Students will examine career options related to their major, network with professionals who majored in the same subject, complete assignments related to the topics listed above, and conduct research on opportunities relevant to their majors and aspirations. Intended for students in majors that do not have a major-specific 299/399 career development course. (0-1 credit hour)
