All students pursuing this minor are also strongly encouraged to complete the following:
- Seek a relevant summer internship (or significant practical experience/Maryville College Works) during their sophomore or junior summer by studying some aspect of ecology, biology, wildlife, fisheries, environmental science or earth sciences (geology, hydrology, soil science);
- Conduct a senior study involving some aspect of ecology, biology, wildlife, fisheries, environmental science or earth sciences (geology, hydrology, soil science). This may be coupled with a relevant summer internship;
- Seek additional electives to enhance their knowledge and skill set. Students and advisors may contact faculty in the Natural Sciences Division for guidance regarding recommended courses.
